Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the European Thyroid
Association we would like to invite you to participate
in our upcoming annual meeting in Istanbul. We really
want to share with you our enthusiasm for what seems
to be a marvellous scientific as well as social program,
designed by our Executive Committee in close cooperation
with the strong team of local organizers chaired by
professor Erdogan.
If you are interested to hear what’s new in thyroid
research, this is the prime event in 2004! Even better,
you may submit your own research and get a chance
to be involved in the famous topic highlight sessions
or in the new young investigators sessions. In whatever
category your abstract is accepted, you can be sure
a competent audience will be interested in your study
results and you’ll get useful feedback.
If you are interested in what’s presently considered
best clinical practice in thyroidology, there are
a number of educational sessions in which you can
discuss ordinary and extraordinary issues encountered
in daily practice.
If you are interested to master particular skills,
there are ‘hands-on-technology’ sessions where you
can practice thyroid ultrasonography, how to investigate
the patient with Graves’ ophthalmopathy, or how to
do a RT-PCR. Attendance however is limited, and provided
on a first come – first served basis.
If you are still looking for other reasons to come
to Istanbul, think of that magnificent city. You really
will enjoy the Turkish hospitality. I’ll just mention
the Bosporus cruise and dinner offered by the Turkish
Society for Endocrinology and Metabolism. So use the
full rational and emotional capacity of your brains,
and we’ll see you in Istanbul.
